Data Retention Policy
We collect nothing. Here is exactly what that means.
What We Collect
Nothing. Praxis Library does not collect any personal information. There are no accounts to create, no forms to fill out, no email lists to join, and no analytics tracking your visits.
We have no database of user information because we never ask for it and never gather it.
What Your Browser Stores
The only data related to Praxis that exists on your device is stored in your browser's localStorage. These are accessibility preferences you choose to set:
- Text size — your preferred reading size (1x, 2x, or 3x)
- High contrast — whether high contrast mode is on or off
- Screen dimming — your preferred dimming level
This data is stored only on your device. We cannot see it, access it, or retrieve it. It exists solely so your preferences persist between visits.
How Long Data Is Stored
Your accessibility preferences remain in localStorage until you clear them. You can do this at any time by:
- Clicking "Reset to Defaults" in the accessibility panel on any page
- Clearing your browser's site data for this domain
- Using your browser's "Clear browsing data" feature
Since we have no server-side storage, there is nothing for us to delete on our end. You have complete control.
What We Transmit
To External Servers
Nothing. When you use Praxis, your browser communicates only with our server to load pages, stylesheets, scripts, and glossary data. No data is sent to any third party.
Glossary and Search
When you search or browse the glossary, your browser fetches data files from our server. Your search queries are processed entirely in your browser—they are never transmitted anywhere.
Interactive Tools
All 7 interactive tools run entirely in your browser. The text you type into prompts, the analyses you run, and the results you see never leave your device.
Your Rights
Because we collect no data, your privacy rights are straightforward:
- Right to access — there is no personal data on our servers to access
- Right to deletion — there is nothing on our servers to delete
- Right to portability — there is no data to export
- Local control — clear localStorage anytime through your browser or our accessibility panel
You can also use private browsing or incognito mode. Since we set no cookies and use no tracking, private browsing works exactly the same as regular browsing—the only difference is that your accessibility preferences won't persist between sessions.
Children's Privacy
Praxis Library is designed to be accessible to learners of all ages. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we are compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by design.
No data collection means no age-gating is needed. Everyone can use Praxis freely and safely.
